The Many Sides of CryBaby

From developing her voice to building creative spaces in the Bronx, CryBaby is making her mark on more than music.

New York City may be the birthplace of hip-hop, but its musical talent extends far beyond rap. The city has long been home to gifted vocalists, dancers, and performers whose artistry deserves just as much recognition. Bronx native CryBaby is one of them.

Her record “Take Me,” this week's No. 1 selection on the Intuned Top 10, has all the makings of a song that stays in rotation. Between its infectious rhythm, confident delivery, and lyrics that are easy to pick up, it's the kind of record that makes you want to dance and run it back.

But CryBaby's talents extend far beyond what you hear on the track. Behind the music is a singer, songwriter, performer, interviewer, and community-minded creative who has spent years developing her craft.

A Voice Years in the Making

CryBaby's musical journey began at just nine years old, when she started writing songs and sharing them with her mother.

During an appearance on Crash the Industry for its Pass The Torch segment alongside DWI Muzik, she recalled bringing home her earliest compositions, excited by the possibility that she'd created something special. By thirteen, her mother had begun investing in studio sessions, helping her turn a childhood passion into something more tangible.

Those first studio experiences weren't always easy. CryBaby recalled receiving criticism from experienced industry professionals who challenged her vocal abilities. Rather than allowing those moments to discourage her, she took what she could from the experience and continued working on her sound.

Her foundation in singing dates back to elementary school, when she participated in an after-school choir from approximately second through fifth grade. With no further formal music classes afterward, CryBaby continued developing her voice independently through vocal exercises she found on YouTube.

It's one thing to have a natural gift and another to put in the work required to develop it.

Years of songwriting, studio sessions, and live performances have helped CryBaby become a versatile vocalist who isn't afraid to experiment. Her catalog moves between R&B, rap, and more upbeat sounds, allowing different sides of her personality to come through.

On “Tonight,” she leans into her softer R&B vocals, while “Valentina” introduces a more energetic delivery. With “Take Me,” she offers something equally engaging, pairing her vocal ability with a rhythm that encourages listeners to move.

And she's not limiting that development to the recording booth. CryBaby also incorporates choreography into her performances, working toward a more complete experience for her audience.

More Than the Music

For CryBaby, creativity doesn't begin and end with making songs.

She's also involved in acting, merchandise, event curation, and media. In one interview, she described the range of projects she takes on, making it clear that her interests extend across several corners of the entertainment industry.

Her experience behind the microphone is particularly interesting.

Alongside her career as a recording artist, CryBaby has conducted interviews for Popparotz TV, a longstanding Bronx media platform whose programming has appeared on BronxNet. She's additionally spoken about conducting interviews with Hood Media, giving her experience on both sides of the conversation.

It's a different kind of skill from singing or performing. Interviewing requires curiosity, preparation, and the ability to make someone else comfortable enough to share their story. Through that work, CB has participated in documenting the same creative community she's part of.

Then there's The Tear Drop Factory.

Connected to CryBaby, the Bronx-based community platform promotes artist showcases, social events, and opportunities for creatives to gather. It reflects another part of her interests: bringing people together and creating spaces for talent to be experienced beyond a phone screen.

Her work has also been highlighted through a UnitedMasters × Spotify Breakout Moment ad-credit campaign, appearing alongside fellow artist Makaela.

Individually, these experiences might seem like different pursuits. Together, they show an artist gaining experience across performance, media, entrepreneurship, and community programming while continuing to develop her own music.

Making Room for Other Voices

One of the most revealing moments of CryBaby's Pass The Torch appearance came when she discussed what she hopes to accomplish beyond her own career.

Growing up, she sometimes felt that children were expected to be seen rather than heard. Despite having ideas and things she wanted to contribute, she understood what it felt like not to have the space to express them.

That experience shaped an ambition she carries today: creating opportunities for young people to use their voices.

CryBaby spoke about wanting to provide platforms for children, teenagers, and young adults to share their talents and perspectives. Her vision extends beyond music to include creative expression, public speaking, and inspirational discussions.

There's a connection between that goal and the work she's already doing.

Through interviewing, event curation, and community programming, CryBaby has found ways to participate in creative spaces without always needing to be their center of attention.

For an artist who has been developing her own voice since childhood, helping others discover theirs feels like a natural extension of that journey.

An Artist Still Building

CryBaby's story is a reminder that artist development isn't limited to finding the right sound.

It's learning how to use your voice, becoming comfortable onstage, understanding the recording process, exploring new creative disciplines, and discovering what you want your work to accomplish.

She began writing songs at nine, entered the studio at thirteen, developed her vocal technique through independent practice, and has continued expanding her experience across music, media, and live events.

None of that happens overnight.

There's also something refreshing about an artist willing to explore different interests without abandoning the one that started it all.

With “Take Me,” CryBaby delivers a catchy, danceable record with the replay value to keep listeners coming back. Beyond it, she's building a creative identity that extends into the community around her.

And as she continues developing her craft, there's plenty more to discover.
