Intuned Artist Spotlight — Week of August 25, 2026

Yari Toro is a Jill of all trades.

Born and raised in Amsterdam, New York, the 518 artist sings, raps, models, does makeup, streams, and ultimately considers herself a creative who wants to do “all the cool things.”

But Yari’s world didn’t start with music.

Growing up, basketball was a major part of life for her and her sister. The two played together through school, CYO, travel and AAU, and Yari once imagined basketball taking her all the way to the WNBA.

Her sister is still a visible part of her life and content today, while music has become the center of Yari’s creative world.

#UH

Her latest record, “#UH,” fits right into it.

It’s fun, fly, and full of personality. It’s the type of song you put on when you need to remember you’re that bitch. That confidence doesn’t feel far removed from Yari herself, who has described believing she’s different and trusting that being herself is what will take her where she wants to go.

That journey has been years in the making. Yari grew up in a musical household, singing alongside her siblings and performing in talent shows before eventually taking music seriously around 2015.

More Than an Artist

What makes Yari interesting is how naturally everything else fits around the music.

She’s learned through performing that being an entertainer isn’t only about having a good song. The way you engage people and the personality they remember matter too.

That’s also why streaming makes sense for her. It gives people access to more of what already makes up Yari’s world: the music, beauty, fashion, relationships, humor and personality.

But she doesn’t confuse attention with art. Yari has openly pushed back against chasing clout for its own sake, questioning what that attention is worth if people don’t care about your music. Her position is simple: “I’m in it for the music.”

Maybe that’s what makes Yari’s many lanes work.

She’s not trying to manufacture a world around herself. She’s letting us into the one that was already there.

Our final verdict? Yari is intuned.
